Our Programs
As a part of one of the nation’s largest health organizations, United Cerebral Palsy affiliates are leaders in providing innovative programs and services to more than 176,000 children and adults with disabilities every day. UCP volunteers are engaged ambassadors helping to fulfill the UCP mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities. UCP makes a difference not only in the lives of the children and adults it serves, but also in the communities as employers contributing to local economies.
Skills for life
Skills for Life is a program designed to provide young adults the skills they need to lead a more independent life. Whether living on their own, in assisted or supervised living situations, people need to have a basic knowledge of money management, cooking, housekeeping, personal care, and community awareness. The Skills for Life program will help them to acquire these skills in the community, with same-aged peers while having fun.

navigating the system
Navigating the System is a group for parents who are trying to "Navigate the System" of transition services for a child with special needs in the 18 year old age category. Transitions occur all through life, but a major time is when a child is turning 18. There are many things to think about... guardianship, how ling will a child remain in school, different programs i.e. Life Without Limits and Project Search. It can be very overwhelming for all involved. This group is intended to be a comfortable, informal setting where parents feel free to ask any questions they may have about a variety of topics.
